This page explains how to leave the H.O.P.E. Ministries app, by Rivanna Works, and delete your account, with or without the app.
In the app
- Open H.O.P.E. Ministries and sign in.
- Go to Me → Settings.
- Choose Leave H.O.P.E. Ministries, then confirm.
It happens straight away, and you are signed out on every device.
Without the app
Call (540) 395-3149 or use our contact form, and tell us:
- your name and your church
- the email address or mobile number on your church record
- that you want to leave H.O.P.E. Ministries and delete your account
We confirm the request with you, using the email or number on your church record, and finish it within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in sessions and your devices' push notification tokens
- Your skills and settings
- Your prayer requests, the record of whom you prayed for, and your encouragement notes
- Requests for help you made that are still open, which are withdrawn, and your sign-ups, which are cancelled
What is kept, and for how long
- The history of needs you helped with or asked for. The church keeps it as its record of the help it gave, with your name replaced by “Former member”. A need's private details (the person's name, address, phone and notes) are deleted 1 year after it ends.
- Your church directory record. H.O.P.E. Ministries copies your church's Planning Center directory each week. While you are in that directory, the copy keeps your name and contact details, marked as having left, so you are not asked to help or signed back in. If your church removes you from Planning Center, the copy is deleted 90 days later. Your record in Planning Center itself belongs to your church: ask your church office to change or remove it.
- Backups and server logs are overwritten within 35 days.
If you change your mind, your church's administrator can let you back in. See the Privacy Policy for more.
